The Julius Kühn Institute, providing experimental fields at all its locations, is currently cultivating for agricultural and horticultural experiments a total acreage of more than 600 hectares; another 70 hectares are forests near Braunschweig.
Most of the land is the property of the Federal Republic of Germany, other plots are leased. Part of the land is cultivated according to the standards of organic farming.
In addition, greenhouse facilities of around 35,000 square meters in total provide ideal conditions for growing plants under controlled conditions.
The more detailed descriptions of the local conditions and facilities are available on our German site only - except for the English compilation of services at Dahnsdorf/Kleinmachnow.
