Assignments and research activities:
Research assistant / PhD student in the joint BMBF project “Generation of haploidy-inducing lines via genome engineering – novel tools for an accelerated plant breeding process of mono- and eudicot crops” (HaploTools), project part carrot: Modification of the chromosomal centromere function in carrot using CRISPR/Cas9-technology.
- Identification of CENH3 genes of different plant species and other candidate genes for haploid induction.
- Evaluation of CRISPR/Cas9-induced mutations of the centromeric histone H3-genes (CENH3) of carrot.
- Performing experiments of Agrobacterium mediated transient gene expression and of vector-free (DNA-free) gene modification in carrots.
