Biologische Wirksamkeitsbewertung PSM/Wirkstoffe

Scientific evalution and assessment of the efficacy of plant protection products and active substances used in stored-product protection (biological efficacy, risk of resistance and -management, minimum effective dose tests, undesirable effects on quality of plant products), including the evaluati

Overall objective of the project

In the European registration and national authorization procedure of plant protection products ((inter)zonal evaluation and the mutual recognition) and active substances the efficacy against the storage pests and the impact on the quality of infested and treated plant products as well as the resistance risk are evaluated. The Draft Registration Report and a National Addendum have to be created, both based on the EU Regulation 1107/2009/EC and the Regulations 284/2013/EU and 546/2011/EU, EU Guidance Documents and EPPO Standards. The intended and proper uses has to be assessed and amended if necessary (modification and risk mitigation measures). In this context, the basic standards for the safe and effective use of plant protection products are the GEP and GAP which have to be considered. Furthermore, the comparative assessment and substitution of plant protection products has to be performed on the level of use; candidates for substitution contain active substances with certain undesirable hazardous properties. Besides these tasks the borderlines between plant protection products and biocides and plant products and food/feed are considered in the context of the storage of goods.
