Overall objective of the project

For biological control of plant diseases, pest arthropods or nematodes spores of fungal antagonists or pathogens are frequently used with variable results. Therefore, based on customized biadhesive peptides the attachment of fungal spores to surfaces of the plant, seed and the plant pathogen or pest arthropod will be optimized. Based on a better attachment the application rate of the biocontrol agent will be optimized, biocontrol efficacy will be enhanced and reliability under various environmental conditions will be improved. Finally, a reduction of application costs is expected.
