Institut für Züchtungsforschung an Obst
The objective of this COST Action is to collect, share and disseminate available information and experience on all aspects of woody plant micropropagation. The aim is to take this technology to the next level to address the challenges associated with woody plant 'recalcitrance', diagnosis including therapy, conservation and automation. In relation to the challenges of 'technological risk and public acceptance' and 'commercialisation', relevant experimental data and experiences will be summarised and communicated in order to minimise the risks and convince all stakeholders of the economic benefits of cloned elite trees and shrubs. In this way, in vitro technology can realise its full ecological potential in support of European forestry and horticulture.
