The invasive spotted winged drosophila (Drosophila suzukii) is currently the most important pest insect in sweet cherries. The yeast, Hanseniasporum uvarum, is associated with D. suzukii and has a phagostimulant effect on the flies. The use of this yeast species in an innovative mixture with and without insecticides will be tested for the first time under field conditions.
