Overall objective of the project

FRUITDIV will tackle all issues listed in the call HORIZON-CL6-2023-BIODIV-01-13 for wild, undomesticated species related to crops essential for human health and diet: apple, pear and stone fruit species (apricot, peach, plum, almond, cherry). It will rely on an interdisciplinary consortium in which members will work together to improve (1) the monitoring of CWRs in Europe (and associated countries), (2) the archiving and sharing of local usage and knowledge, (3) the characterization of such species for a future use in breeding programs, a better capitalization of their potential benefits and for a more sustainable conservation, bridging together scientists, stakeholders, civic representatives, local farmers and conservatories’ curators.
