Overall objective of the project

The aim of the project is to investigate the genotype, environment and management interactions (GxExM) with regard to the factors of varietal resistance, weed suppression, drought tolerance and yield of winter wheat (WW) and to evaluate preceding crop effects with regard to Septoria and Fusarium infestation. For a better assessment of site effects such as regional soil and climatic conditions on the influence of management measures, the trial will be conducted in parallel at the three trial field sites Braunschweig (Sickte), Quedlinburg and Groß Lüsewitz. Various conflicts of objectives are to be examined more closely. For example, the variation in sowing time for weed control is to be compared with a possible yield loss, or early strong vegetative growth for weed control is to be compared with the risk of drought stress during prolonged drought. The usability of increased resistance to fungal pathogens of a preculture on the following crop will also be investigated.DK's contribution is the development of the digital field trial management system LIA and the mapping of the project results in LIA.
