Overall objective of the project

As part of the digitization of application technology in plant protection, the JKI is planning a comprehensive overhaul of the existing DABEG device database. The goal is to migrate it to a modern, browser-based Oracle database, which will serve as the technical backbone for the publicly accessible DAPS platform. This platform provides central information on tested plant protection devices and seed treatment equipment — user-friendly, filterable, exportable, and partially machine-readable. It enables national and control authorities, as well as international institutions, to quickly and transparently access the listed devices, which are binding for numerous BVL application regulations.A key objective is to replace the previous universal table with a database-based presentation featuring targeted filtering options. Additionally, an API interface is planned to allow machine-readable data access and integration with external systems. In the future, applications for device testing are intended to be submitted via OZG-compliant forms on the Federal Portal and automatically integrated into internal processing workflows. In this context, the previous Mach system will be replaced by the new internal JKI Information Management System (JIM), aiming to streamline internal processes, improve data integration, and implement seamless, user-centered administrative procedures. The redesign of DAPS and its technical infrastructure represents a significant step in the digitization of application technology in plant protection and enhances networking with authorities, professional users, and the agricultural sector.
