Pest arthropods in vegetable, ornamental, medicinal and spice plant cultivation, in tree nurseries and in urban green are investigated with regard to biology, population dynamics, diagnosis, prognosis and control options. Fundamental questions for a better understanding of the organisms as well as applied questions with regard to the development and optimization of sustainable plant protection measures are addressed. Likewise, beneficial arthropods, which occur or are used as natural counterparts of pests, are comprehensively investigated. General and applied questions regarding the optimization of biological plant protection through the use, promotion and establishment of beneficial organisms are addressed.
