• Evaluation of cereals with regard to resistance/tolerance against insect-transmitted viruses (Barley yellow dwarf virus, Wheat dwarf virus) and bacteria (Phytoplasma)
• Improving the resilience of faba beans against the pathogens causing legume fatigue
• Phenotypic characterization and genetic analysis of resistance/tolerance as a basis for the development of molecular markers
