• Assessment of the sustainability of plant care systems in cities in consideration of specific site conditions, climatic change and conservation of ecosystem functions (Focus: use of herbaceous plants/perennials, urban agriculture)
• Execution of cooperative research projects regarding the prevention and reduction of abiotic and biotic stresses leading to damage of urban plants
• Biology and epidemiology of plant pathogenic microorganisms in public green and in home gardens
• Consultant for the execution of the federal „White Paper for urban green spaces“
