• Head of the Structural Genome Analysis Working Group
• Fruit Breeding Research, specialising in Molecular Genetics/Biotechnology and Pre- breeding
• Identification of genomic regions and underlying candidate genes for traits conferring resistance to bacterial and fungal diseases (e.g., fire blight, apple scab, leaf spots, etc.), as well as the development of molecular markers for Marker-assisted-breeding
• Functional characterisation of candidate genes using New Breeding Technologies (NBTs)
• Research on Climate-relevant traits in Fruit Breeding
• Application of high-throughput sequencing methods and genomes to investigate traits of interest
