Tasks
Research Associate / PhD Student in the SiRT Project:
Enhancing the resilience of native tree species to climate change-induced stress through the utilization of sulfur-induced resistance/tolerance mechanisms, Subproject: Selection and assessment of forest sites in the context of sulfur availability
- Inventory of nutrient supply in German forests: analysis of existing databases and correlation analysis regarding nutrient availability and stress
- Coordination and implementation of application trials at forest sites to investigate the relationship between sulfur availability and the health status of beech trees (via remote sensing)
- Execution of controlled pot experiments with varying sulfur applications to determine optimal sulfur supply for beech trees and the link between sulfur nutrition and pathogen susceptibility
