Project: Potato breeding to investigate and establish an increased resistance to pectinolytic bacteria (KUER)

• The establishment of an efficient phenotyping method for blackleg and soft rot after primary and secondary infections with pectinolytic bacteria
• Method development for the quantification of wound healing in potatoes
• Phenotyping of a cultivar panel with the optimised scoring methods with regard to primary infection, secondary infection and wound healing
• Association studies on primary infection, secondary infection and wound healing to identify resistance loci
• Inclusion of selected genotypes with increased resistance in breeding
