Institute for National and International Plant Health

In December 2018, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 2020 as the International Year of Plant Health (IYPH). The year 2020 is expected to increase the global awareness among the public and policy makers of the importance on how protecting plant health, protect the environment, and boost economic development. The UN General Assembly invited FAO, with the IPPC Secretariat, to serve as the lead agency to spearhead activities, and called on governments, civil society, and the private sector to engage at global, regional and national levels. The JKI and especially its Institute for National and International Plant Health is deeply involved in all aspect of plant health. Thus, it supports the IYPH together with the German Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL). During the next weeks and months you will find all activities of the JKI at this site, e.g. participation in trade fairs or special information for tourists.
