Tasks

Scientific empolyee of „Applied Chemical Ecology“

  • Research project: Resistance of sugar beet to the invasive γ-proteobacterium Candidatus Arsenophonus phytopathogenicus and its vector, planthopper Pentastiridius leporinus (PENTA-Resist)
  • Development of novel formulations for behavior manipulating strategies for the biological control of Cacopsylla picta, the vector of apple proliferation in laboratory and semi-field trials
  • Testing novel formulations with entomopathogenic fungus in laboratory and semi-field settings
  • Behavioral bioassays with insects
  • Analysis of volatile (fragrances) and other plant metabolites
  • Development of vector-independent pathogen transmission
  • Measurement of feeding behaviour of cicadas using electropenetrography (EPG)
  • Analysis of potentially bioactive components using gas chromatography coupled with electroantennographical detection (GC-EAD) on cicada antennae
  • Studies on the biology of Pentastiridius leporinus and its interactions with the host plant
