Inhalt: Resilient forest
Integrative approaches to maintaining functional biodiversity and the natural regulation and defence mechanisms of the forest against diseases and pests are of central importance. The role of biotic disturbances in the succession and ecosystem dynamics of the forest is analysed in more detail. At the same time, the development of indicator systems for analysing the effects of integrated pest management on biodiversity in forests will be investigated.
Special attention is also given to soil organisms. The prevailing microbial community (soil microbiome) has a decisive influence on soil health, which in turn is a basic prerequisite for healthy forest ecosystems.
