Peat substitutes: Summary of the ToPGa joint project

Strip cropping with oilseed rape and wheat is a promising strategy for promoting biodiversity in agroecosystems

A four-year project by JKI and Kiel University involving 15 farms in Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt has shown that strip cropping can increase biodiversity with only slight reductions in yield. Researchers are investigating what incentives are needed in practice to establish the system in the long term.
