Voluntary testing is carried through by the Plant Protection Offices of the German federal states on application of the manufacturer. These tests and the assessment are based on the German Plant Protection Act, the Plant Protection Ordinanceand the Guidelines of the JKI.
Upon application of the manufacturer, the Institute performs the technical testing on several test facilities. The field testing institutes of the Plant Protection Offices are testing in practice. This dual testing guarantees a reliable assessment of the tested plant protection equipment.
If testing is successfully completed, an equipment test report will be published. The equipment will be approved for five years. It can be marked with a JKI seal of approval. Besides entire plant protection equipment, also parts, like nozzles, are being tested.
A current compilation of all plant protection equipment and parts can be found in the section "Approved plant protection equipment", which is part of the Descriptive List. All current test reports can be found in the online database (in German).
