• Head of the research group “Natural Substances”
  
  • Development of alternative control agents/strategies for control of plant diseases, currently mainly Oomycetes; alternative agents helping to overcome abiotic stress
  • Basic research on mode of action of natural substances, interactions in host-pathogen systems (induced resistance, induced tolerance, direct effects on pathogens)

• IOBC/WPRS: Member of the working group “Induced resistance in plants against insects and diseases“
• Member of the working group of the senate of federal research institutes “Organic farming”
• Member of the German Phytomedical Society (DPG)
