Task and research areas:

Scientific co-worker within the framework of the EU project INSECT DOCTORS funded by Horizon 2020 on the development of a diagnostic tool for pathogen detection (virus, bacteria and fungi) in a variety of mass reared insects. The proposed diagnostic tools will be developed and optimized based on two different arthropods of agricultural and economic importance, codling moth (Cydia pomonella) and western honeybee (Apis mellifera).

• Development of bioinformatics pipeline for arthropod pathogen detection
• Morphological identification of arthropod pathogens based on light and electron microscopic techniques
• Secondment: University of Valencia, Spain
