JKI at the Biofach in Nuremberg

The Julius Kühn Institute is co-exhibitor at BIOFACH, “the world’s leading trade fair for organic food”. You will find our scientists in hall 9, at the stand of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (booth no 351), presenting current research results and projects in the field of organic farming. This year, the spotlight is on natural enemies of pests.  This approach includes releasing beneficial insects but also mobilizing antagonists from the wide range of fungi, nematodes, bacteria or viruses.  Parasitoids which parasitise the eggs, larvae or cocoons of pest insects are one example. Another focus of the presentation is on the early acoustic detection of  pest insects in storerooms.

On the opening day, three JKI scientists will present a lecture session on biological pest control:
