Research:

• Evaluation of genetic resources of barley for resistance to Polymyxa graminis-transmitted mosaic viruses (Barley mild mosaic virus, Barley yellow mosaic virus-1 and -2)
• Evaluation of barley and wheat accessions for tolerance to aphid-transmitted viruses (Barley yellow dwarf virus-MAV, -PAV, Cereal yellow dwarf virus-RPV) and the leafhopper-transmitted Wheat dwarf virus (WDV)
• Phenotypic characterization and genetic analysis of resistance / tolerance to cereal viruses as basis for the development of molecular markers
• Observations to the actual incidence of cereal viruses
• Maintenance of isolates of different cereal viruses and of a permanent rearing of Psammo-tettix alienus as vector of WDV
