Research:
- Preparation of opinions of the JKI on applications for the release and placing on the market of genetically engineered organisms
- Main emphasises of risk assessment:
- genetically modified herbicide resistant plants, including effects of changed management practices on the agroecosystem
- genetically modified plants with modified or new metabolites
- Spread and persistence of genetically modified plants and genes in the environment; especially with respect to co-existence of oilseed rape
- Stability of gene expression in genetically modified plants (in progeny and after “gene stacking”)
- Detection and molecular analysis of transgenes in plants (including epigenetic variation)
