Research:

• Preparation of opinions of the JKI on applications for the release and placing on the market of genetically engineered organisms
• Main emphasises of risk assessment:
  
  • genetically modified herbicide resistant plants, including effects of changed management practices on the agroecosystem
  • genetically modified plants with modified or new metabolites

• Spread and persistence of genetically modified plants and genes in the environment; especially with respect to co-existence of oilseed rape
• Stability of gene expression in genetically modified plants (in progeny and after “gene stacking”)
• Detection and molecular analysis of transgenes in plants (including epigenetic variation)
